Criticism of Facebook:
This article states that Facebook has met many controversies. Some of which the site being banned in many countries, one of which is in Iran. This is due to Anti-Islamic information and racial discrimination. Many schools and workplaces have also banned the social networking site at workplaces and school as it does not allow employees or students to “waste time”.
In May 2011 emails were sent to Journalists and Bloggers making severe allegations about Google’s Privacy. It was then later found out that this Anti-Google Campaign, which was held by PR giant Burson-Marsteller was paid by Facebook to do so.
There were many incidents which took which were not in the favor of Facebook. One of this was; a 16year old girl making an event on Facebook for the birthday party. She accidently made it public and 1600 “guests” attended.

Social Impact:
This article states the impact that Facebook has on people’s social life. These have been positive and negative reviews. Positively it is said that it is used to reunite old friends and family. Facebook has reunited 2 father-daughters; John Watson and the daughter. John had been looking for his daughter for 20 years and secondly; Tony Macnauton and Frances Simpson who hadn’t seen each other for 48 years.
The negative affects which it’s said to have is that it caused divorce and ruins peoples relationships.
There was a hoax chain letter which was sent round; by people copying and pasting that Facebook will start charging to all friends list. The chain letter was stopped the rumor is still being spread although it states on the Facebook homepage "It's free and always will be."
